Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium Grant

Berrow School is committed to helping all children achieve their potential. Pupil premium is one of many contributing factors to our children’s success. Pupil premium is allocated towards our continued dedication to the Narrowing the Gap strategy. Working alongside school staff, the school has developed ways in which vulnerable children (FSM, SEN, LAC, Service children) are provided with additional support to help move children’s learning forward both at school and at home.

Vulnerable groups are clearly monitored in the school’s self review strategies and analysis of progress data so that timely and appropriate interventions can be made for children to achieve their potential. Careful provision mapping allows children to access support in a range of formats including 1:1 and small group support. Pupil premium has helped contribute towards the salary of additional staff to work with the children most at risk of underachievement. Pupil premium has been used to support access to extra-curricular activities where cost may be prohibitive to some families and for the rich variety of enrichment activities to encourage participation and increase enjoyment at school.  The progress of every Pupil Premium child is tracked through the school.  Their progress is compared to the class average and it considers any intervention they have received.

The school's strategy is reviewed at the start of the financial year.  Please see below for how the Pupil Premium Grant has been used:
