Safeguarding

Safeguarding Statement

At Berrow School, we believe that safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone’s responsibility. In order to fulfil this responsibility effectively we ensure our approach is child centered, considering always, what is in the best interests of the child or young person.

We are committed to providing an environment that nurtures and transforms the lives of children and young people attending our school and take seriously our responsibilities to safeguard and promote their welfare.

Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies, when there are concerns about a child's welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with parents/carers first, unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child's welfare.

We have a number of policies and procedures in place that contribute to our safeguarding commitment, including our Safeguarding Policy which can be viewed below.

The Designated Safeguarding Lead is Mr Lee Chandler (Headteacher) and the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead is Mrs Rachel Webber (Deputy Headteacher) or Miss Emma Allen (Pre-School Manager). The safeguarding governor is Rev Jo Barr.
