Just a quick message to let you know that I have now set up the additional Google Classroom page and have invited the children. Please ask your child to check their account. I welcome communications from the children, parents and guardians too, so please feel free to drop me an email!
I hope you are all keeping well.
I am currently setting up a SEND Google Classroom for children who are on the Berrow SEND register. This will be an additional Classroom to their class Google Classroom page (where their class teacher will be setting their work after Easter). My intention is that our Google Classroom will be a place where I can signpost resources, continue to complete relevant paperwork and to be able to communicate with the children and their families whilst we are in this challenging time. Please look out for the request to join the SEND Google Classroom which will be coming out to your child this week via their Chromebook login.
Until then, please visit the ELSA website for some great free resources which support children's wellbeing at this time. There are daily challenges, calming strategies, design a worry monster and social stories linked to what is happening at the moment, to name but a few.

TranScEND parent meeting- UPDATE!
Unfortunately, we have had to cancel the planned TranScEND parent meeting scheduled for Wednesday 27th November. Our school Educational Psychologist, Jenny Kraft, who was due to attend, is sadly unwell. Please keep checking here for a new meeting date in the New Year.
I have just confirmed the date and time of our first TranScEND parent meeting! Jenny Kraft, our school Educational Psychologist (EP) will be joining our first coffee afternoon on Wednesday 27th November from 14:00-15:00 in the Library.
We will start with a 10 minute introduction on how changes to allocated EP hours have led us to use our time in a more creative way, and how this has strengthened links between our school and our neighbouring schools in our community. There will then be an opportunity to book a 10 minute slot to talk with Jenny and myself privately, or to enjoy a drink with other parents. During the hour, I will be looking for parental feedback on our school SEND Information Report (which is currently being updated). It is essential that this document is clear and accessible for all to understand and therefore I would be extremely grateful for any feedback/constructive comments before this document goes to our Governing Board.
I very much hope that you will be able to join Jenny and myself for this first coffee afternoon and exciting opportunity!
I look forward to seeing you there!
Welcome to the SEND support page.
I hope, as this page develops, you will find it a helpful resource which can be referred to whether you have a child with a Special educational Need and/or Disability (SEND) or just an interest in helping children to learn in whatever way best suits them.
I am currently setting up a parent and carer support network which will be called TranScEND. This will launch in December with a visit from our School's Educational Psychologist, Jenny Kraft. It will be an opportunity for parents and carers to ask Jenny about her role with our school and how schools in the local community are joining together to share resources and expertise.
I very much hope you will be able to join us for this exciting next step in the support for children with SEND. It will be an excellent opportunity for us to gather parent and carer ideas and visions for how we take provision and support for children with SEND forward into 2020.
Confirmed date of the first meeting of TranScEND to follow shortly.
